Every now and then, life gives you the chance to reconnect with old friends and make music that matters. For me, that moment came last August when my good friend and fellow U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors alum, Luke Brimhall, invited me to play piano on his debut jazz album, Dedication.
Luke and I first met nearly 15 years ago during our time with the Jazz Ambassadors. We shared the stage countless times, and when he called about this project, it felt like no time had passed at all.
The recording session was a reunion in every sense. Joining us were my old rhythm section—Hamilton Price on bass and Wes Anderson on drums—both fellow Jazz Ambassadors. The album was mixed and mastered by another longtime friend from the band, Ricky Furr. The chemistry was instant, the groove was deep, and it reminded me why I became a jazz musician in the first place.
The album dropped on August 1, 2025, and it’s full of Luke’s original tunes—fresh, soulful, and straight from the heart. You can stream it on all the major platforms, or pick up a CD here: LukeBrimhall.com
