As a music educator, few things are as rewarding as witnessing the growth and success of a student over the years. Today, I am thrilled to share the inspiring journey of my former piano student, Ben Sheeley—a testament to dedication, talent, and creative brilliance.
Ben began his musical journey with me at the tender age of 13. From those early piano lessons, it was clear that he possessed not only remarkable talent but also a deep passion for music, both as a performer and a composer. Over the course of a decade, I had the privilege of guiding him through lessons that honed his abilities and nurtured his creative spirit.
Throughout his high school and college years, Ben’s exceptional compositions and performances graced many concerts. The jazz bands he played with frequently showcased his original works, allowing audiences to experience the unique blend of emotion and technical prowess that characterized his music.
In 2022, Ben achieved a significant milestone by earning his Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Composition from Towson University. His commitment to his craft and academic excellence continued as he recently earned a Master’s degree in Jazz Piano Performance from the same institution in 2025. His hard work and dedication have been nothing short of inspiring, and I am immensely proud to have been a part of his musical journey.
